Planning for Lindley’s 225th Birthday Party continues. The event from noon to 5 P.M on September 19, 2015 will be held at the Lindley Town Hall and the Lindley Community Church which are located at the Intersection of Morgan Creek Road and County Rt. 115 (former US. Rt. 15). Exits for Lindley are now located at the Presho Exit ( #6 ) and the Lawrenceville Exit on Interstate 99. Handicapped parking is expected to be at the Town Hall with General Parking in the Church Parking Lot.
Children’s activities and the food tent will be on the Church grounds. Outside the Town Hall there will be demonstrations by Flint Makers, a Blacksmith, displays of old tools and vintage automobiles. At the Town Hall and tent, there will be displays on tobacco growing, hopefully Indian Artifacts, businesses, maps, photos and other memorabilia relating to Lindley's past. Descendants of our Founding Fathers will be there to exchange family history and stories with each other and the public.
More is still being added to the event .
A program at 3 P.M. with several surprises will be followed by ice cream and cake! Cake and ice cream are free from donations and the budget. Proceeds from food sales at the Community Church will be donated to the LP Fire Department who will be helping in several ways that day.
The public is invited with free admission.
Watch for the banner on donated by Hall’s of Tioga, Pa. on the Lindley Town Hall lawn.
More is being added to the event as I write. The Planning Committee and Chairperson, Brenda Criss, have planned quite a day that will go down in Lindley’s history. Plan to join them at the event.
PS: We have added several more names to the list of those who will be 88 by December 31st, 2015. So far I have been unable to find an address for May Gross. If anyone can help, please call me at 523-8851.
So far we have 22 names. Isn’t that amazing.? Must be something in Lindley’s environment or the good people who reside here.......
