Notice:  The Lindley Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, September 7th at 7:00pm at the Lindley Town Hall 637 County Rte 115 Lindley NY 14858 to review updated information on a subdivision application by Michael Mattison for two subdivisions at tax map #370.00-01-024.115, 1636 River Rd Lindley NY.  All interested parties are requested to attend.

NOTICE: The Lindley Town Board will meet the afternoon of Tuesday, August 25th at 2:30 pm at the Lindley Town Hall, 637 County Rte 115, Lindley NY 14858 to meet with a representative from the USDA regarding grant funding and rural development. All interested parties are invited.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: the Lindley Town Board will hold a Public Hearing on proposed Amendments to Local Law #1 of 2015, "Lindley Constable", on Wednesday, August 26th, 2015 at 7:00pm at the Lindley Town Hall 637 County Rte 115 Lindley NY 14858.  The proposed Amendments to the Local Law will meet the NYS Department of Justice Constable requirements that allow for a Court Bailiff.  All interested parties are requested to attend and be heard. Copies of the proposed Amendments to the Local Law are available for inspection at the Lindley Town Clerk's Office at the Lindley Town Hall and on the website at The Town Board may vote on this matter after all parties have been heard. A Zoning Law workshop and the Town Board Audit Meeting will follow the Public Hearing.

Next Lindleytown Committee Planning Meeting 8/27

The Planning Committee for Lindley's 225th Birthday Party will meet at the Lindley Town Hall on Thursday August 27th  at 7 P.M. All interested parties are welcome to attend.

Brenda-Chairperson would like to have most of the planning finished that evening.

We have a list of people who will be 88 by December 31,2015.,still living, a native of Lindley or married a Lindley native and raised the family here.

Listing the names here so we don’t miss anyone..If you know of some one else, please call me.  Hopefully those who are able can attend the celebration of Lindley’s birthday party. Several live out of town or are in nursing homes, but we would still  like to honor them .

Personally, I feel this is a remarkable list –says something about living in Lindley!!!!

The Code Officer's office will be open from 1:00-3:00 pm on Monday, 8/17/2015 instead of 5:00-7:00 pm.

Lindleytown Birthday Celebration Planning Meeting

The July meeting for planning  Lindley’s 225th birthday party  was quite productive. Since then the group (–especially Chairperson  Brenda Criss ) have been busy working on the to-do lists that go with planning such an event. It promises to be afternoon of interesting and fun activities for the young and the old.
Lindley residents will be celebrating the beginnings of one of Steuben County’s first real settlements. (Painted Post/Corning had a few folks living in that area, but there was no community as well planned as Colonel Lindsley’s –”Lindleytown “ in 1790 ).
The afternoon will be a place to renew old friendships and to meet /greet new neighbors. 
After this coming meeting, there will  be a better idea of who, what, and when we can publicize.

If you are interested in Lindley’s past history and would like to be a part of the afternoon’s activities, we hope to see you on the 13th.
