NOTICE: The Lindley Town Board will hold a Public Hearing during
the Regularly Scheduled Town Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 11th
at 7:00 pm at the Lindley Town Hall, 637 US 15 Lindley NY 14858.
The purpose of the Public Hearing is to discuss a proposed Local Law
entitled "Town of Lindley Bidding Statement." This Local Law will
specify an addition to Lindley's current bid wording. Copies of the
proposed Local Law are available at the Town Clerk's office and on
the website at lindleytown.blogspot.com. During this meeting, all
interested parties are invited to attend and be heard. A
determination will be made following all public comments pertaining
to the Local Law.

The public is invited to comment on a draft work plan being reviewed by the New York State
Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) to investigate the Philips Lighting Company
site (“site”) located at 7265 State Route 54, Bath, Steuben County. Please see the map for the site
location. Documents related to the cleanup of this site can be found at the location(s) identified below
under "Where to Find Information."
Draft Investigation Work Plan
The draft investigation work plan, called a “Remedial Investigation Work Plan,” was submitted to
NYSDEC under New York’s Brownfield Cleanup Program. The investigation will be performed by
Philips Electronics North America Corporation ("applicant") with oversight by NYSDEC and the
New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
How to Comment
NYSDEC is accepting written comments about the draft investigation work plan for 30 days, from
May 20, 2014 through June 19, 2014. The proposed plan is available for review at the location(s)
identified below under "Where to Find Information." Please submit comments to the NYSDEC
project manager listed under Project Related Questions in the "Whom to Contact" area below.
Highlights of the Proposed Site Investigation
The investigation will define the nature and extent of contamination in soil, surface water,
groundwater and any other parts of the environment that may be affected.
The proposed Remedial Investigation includes the collection of soil, soil vapor, and groundwater
samples to define the nature and extent of contamination. Based on results of the sampling, soil
vapor intrusion evaluations may be completed in on- and off-site buildings as necessary.
Next Steps
NYSDEC will consider public comments, revise the plan as necessary, and approve the work plan.
NYSDOH must concur with the plan. The approved work plan will be made available to the public
(see “Where to Find Information” below). After the work plan is approved, the activities detailed in
the work plan will be implemented.

May 15 & 16 rain road damage fixed
Roads damaged by rain today and last night are now passable. Thank you for your patience.

Please take alternate routes if possible if you normally drive Watson, Preston, Swarthout, Stevens, Felker Hill, or Bell Hill roads... the heavy overnight rain has damaged the roads further and the highway crew continues to work on them.
